El Présidente has been moved again. We have let him out of the attic and placed him in the staff room on a lovely pink couch. 10 years of wishing has finally come true for Leo (El Présidente). The new roaster and afterburner arrived on a flat deck truck looking like something from NASA. He was like a kid at Christmas, he couldn't wait to rip it apart and assemble it. All black with shiny chrome, Leo has spent many hours admiring it and saying "I'm so stoked".
Phase 3 of KHC is well under way, the posts are in, and the walls are going up. This phase will be made up of a green bean warehouse AND our own Kicking Horse Café. The town is a buzz, everyone is very excited about it.
The Staff of KHC was surprised with a helicopter ride to the summit of Panorama where we enjoyed an amazing 4 course fondue hosted by the Summit Hut. Ray and Rob put on a fabulous feast. This event almost didn’t fly as the valley was socked in but luck was on our side and the Panorama donut opened up.
We would like to welcome a new member to our team, Mr Chris Wrazej. He brings a wealth of operations knowledge FROM his previous work experience. We have banished him to production for some “hands on” training and have asked the girls to be gentle on him as he does have office hands. In two weeks he will be spending time in the roasting department seeing how the other side works.
