Chris
Chris had no idea what he was getting into when he first started with KHC, but the girls in Packaging make it their daily mission to set him straight. With 14 years resort industry operations experience specializing in Human Resources, he continues to shed his image as a pasty white office boy and is increasingly comfortable in a hair net and steel toed shoes. As Director of Operations, he works with Team Leaders in each department to build, develop at retain our awesome KHC team, and since his arrival has taken being “Lean and Mean” to another level. “By the way, is that process step really adding value???”
Elana
As Kicking Horse Coffee’s co-founder, CEO and matron of all, Elana spends most of her time looking at the business from all angles. Overseeing Sales, Marketing and Finance, she finds her biggest challenge is just trying to make the numbers of Leo’s next project or big idea, pencil out. A lover of all the good things in life, Elana continues to reign as a champion of causes, be it waste reduction – workplace organization or doing whatever it takes to ensure that KHC employees are the healthiest and happiest workers in the country – “drop and give me 50 Rosenfeld!... Namaste”
Leo
Kicking Horse Coffee’s President, Co-Founder and in-house Chief Idea Officer, Leo is a fierce competitor – both in and out of the ring. Not only great at thinking of creative ideas, Leo is also a master of execution and keeps the rest of us on our toes, and in his wake. When not trying to figure out the next “best” thing, Leo spends his time scouring the globe to source an even larger supply of Organic, Fair Trade Coffee to keep our Roasters and Packaging Machines humming, all the while thinking about alternative ways to recapture energy, reduce our garbage and deciding whether or not we can throw yet another item into our composting worm bin!
Lynn
Whether it’s going over our flexible packaging proofs with a magnifying glass checking for errors, or editing images on the website, nothing gets by Lynn. She is also great at picking up rolling balls… And what exactly does that entail? Well, after Leo’s creative juices run dry (or more likely he just gets distracted and moves on to something new) she is there to take over the reigns and guide things to completion. Equally talented as our resident IT specialist and queen of inventory management, she also helps out Mia on the order desk, answering calls and taking orders. Her ideas for changes at KHC include the 4 day work week and successes have included making powder days mandatory – “what does that snow gauge at Pano read today?”
Mia
Our second conscript from the lumber industry, Mia has raised the bar on fashion, style, etiquette and professionalism for the front office. Armed with previous Executive Assistant, accounting and customer service experience including a great smile that even comes through on the phone, our office Mind Reader and Contortionist Extraordinaire, does whatever it takes to keep our loyal fans happy, and continues to make great impressions with new and existing customers. In between taking calls from distributors and reconciling accounts in QuickBooks, she still finds time for a little vanilla smackerel about mid afternoon. Next to killer coffee, her other passions include all things fitness, camping and hockey.
